    Slow paced But very good historical fiction It provides good vocabulary and description of life for the Kumeyaay I couldn t find information better than this for my third grade class other than a field trip to the Museum of Man.

    I read this book back in the third grade, when we were being taught local Native American history I don t remember much about this book, besides that the protagonist was amongst Indians It was a great book, even though I don t remember it.
